Getting Ready!

The last two weeks have been great, all the school stuff is over, and I've able to relax. I went to the library, and got conversational Italian CD's, so everyday im going to listen to the lessons.... I'm doing about 2 a day though cause they are only 30 mins. I took German in high school... and I only took it till junior year, so its been a while since I've done a language. Being from California, I learned Spanish too, so that helps with the familiarity.

I've been looking at flights to Florence too... I get a $1000 travel voucher so thats good, but seriously they can be around $1500. And I won't be coming home for holidays, and I get a month off at Christmas. The plan is for my mom to come over for a while, and we will go on an adventure... She really wants to come, its just soo expensive.

I've been watching movies about Florence, reading other blogs, checking out websites, and looking for pictures. I have looked for restaurants and clubs, all that fun stuff. I've Google Street Walked the area of the school :]] I'm excited, if you couldn't notice. I am soo ready for a change. I am ready to grow up. I am ready to see the world....

What the heck? Florence?

Ok, so all along I was planning on going to Poughkeepsie, NY for school. Marist College. I mean that was already an adventure, I'm from California. I really want to go away, somewhere different, somewhere new. And sure, I know I will miss my family and friends, and theres that issue of cold.... Can I just say I'm scared of the snow??? Well the snow doesn't matter now-- I'm going across the world. Yes, world. I am going to Florence, Italy. Lorenzo de' Medici is a partner school with Marist, and my major of Digital Media is offered on both campuses, so my credits will all (hopefully) transfer over. The program is called the Freshmen Florence Experience, and only like 20-25 students go.... I am sooo excited!! I wanted to do something exciting, and this program just presented itsself to me... I dint think my parents would go for it, but when we saw it was the same tuition... I HAD to do it. How amazing will it be to go this far away, to study art in one of the art centers of the WORLD, to experience a whole new culture by being emmersed in it. I've been to Italy before, and I loved it. I was young, thrid grade, but I remember everything. I'm excited for the food, the museums, the clothes :] and the new way of life. A few people asked if I was nervous, but ya know, I'm not, really. Right now in my life I want to have as many different experiences as I can, because you learn from each one. Firenze, here I come!
